Twenty-Fifth Annual Maine Coast Memorial Hospital Chefs’ Gala a Huge Success

More than 400 guests came together on the night of April 28 for dancing, food, and fun at the twenty-fifth annual Maine Coast Memorial Hospital Chefs’ Gala, sponsored by Camden National Bank. Over $55,000 was raised at the event to fund mammograms for those who cannot afford to pay and support care at the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital Breast Clinic.
“The Chefs’ Gala is an important fundraiser for the Breast Clinic,” says John Ronan, FACHE, president, Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. “We’re grateful for the community’s support, as it allows us to continue to maintain and enhance this truly special resource.”
The “fire and ice” theme provided inspiration for the chefs who wowed guests with a diverse selection of tasty gourmet fare. For Chip Butterwick of Chipper’s Restaurant & Catering and the team of chefs from area restaurants that he assembled, the event was an enjoyable way to make a difference in the community.
“The chefs have a great time putting together something special for guests and supporting the hospital,” says Chip. “It’s a real highlight of the year.”
Entertainment was provided by Portland-based Wavelength, a five-piece band that packed the dancefloor with hits spanning several decades.
